Welcome to this edition of Diabites, which contains news and updates on the recent activities of the RCN Diabetes Nursing Forum.

This issue highlights several of the impressive and interesting initiatives that forum members have become involved in as of late, from forum study days to conference questionnaires – some have also become part of a new group (myself included) to address diabetes care among those of African Caribbean descent. We are also very proud to highlight the award won by forum member Keith Booles for his work on diabetes care in the prison environment. In addition to this, we have links to the latest reports on diabetes care and pathways.

We hope that you enjoy reading this newsletter and we look forward to hearing from colleagues who have news or events to share in the next edition. And please put your thinking caps on for our upcoming conference questionnaire. Remember – the conference needs to be about what’s important to you and your practice, so write it down!
