Preceptorship and NMC consultation

The final meeting of the steering group was held on 1st March.  The group went through the many responses to the consultation and hope to issue the final document on 15th March for implementation on 1st April .  It is expected CNO will make Preceptorship mandatory across the NHS with strong recommendations for a commitment from employers in the independent, private and voluntary sectors. The proposals offer a wide range of options for both employers and employees.  The NMC will pick up their discussion on whether or not to make Preceptorship mandatory and to link completion to revalidation later in the year.
