David Barrett

I work as a Nurse Lecturer in Telehealth within the Faculty of Health and Social Care at the University of Hull. This role enables me to focus on the educational needs of nurses in relation to the use of technology in healthcare. I also have particular interest in the evidence base that underpins eHealth interventions and the impact that technology has on the roles and responsibilities of nurses.

My clinical background is in cardiac nursing and I have also held a number of nurse management posts. I’ve been a member of the RCN for over 20 years and have worked in various academic roles within the University of Hull since 2002.

I joined the eHealth steering committee in September 2012 with the aim of assisting in the further development of the activities and membership of the Forum.
