Link members
RCN forums cover a vast array of nursing specialisms. You can join up to three forums free with RCN membership – and as many others as you want for a small charge.
The RCN Emergency Care Association (ECA) is the voice of emergency nursing in the UK.
The ECA wants a link member in every emergency and urgent care facility – including emergency departments, minor injury units and NHS walk-in centres.
Why have link members?
Link members help the ECA represent the reality of emergency care regionally, nationally and internationally. As a link member you help the committee be as representative as possible of the ECA membership.
You also give your colleagues a chance to voice local concerns, making sure national policies reflect the views of the wider emergency care community.
Why you should be a link member
- It’s a well established, influential, proactive coalition of like-minded health care professionals.
- A professional organisation driven entirely by members for members.
- Providing valuable evidence of professional development for your portfolio.
- An opportunity to influence the emergency care agenda and future direction of the ECA.
- A chance to help shape policy and position statements.
- A network of emergency care professionals in all four UK countries and internationally.
What are you expected to do?
- Contribute to and comment on policies and position statements.
- Represent the concerns and elicit the opinions of emergency care professionals in your region and feed back these views to the committee.
- Actively recruit members to the ECA.
- Provide local contact details on the ECA website.
- Facilitate regional study days hosted by the ECA.
