Consultation on low secure services and psychiatric intensive care

Published: 02 February 2012

Ian Hulatt encourages you to get respond to a consultation on low secure and psychiatric intensive care services

One of the key roles of the RCN is providing a clinically credible nursing view to consultations on health policy, indeed it is one of our fundamental purposes.

One of the many changes that are currently being proposed to the delivery of health care in England will be how services are commissioned.

The consultation we have been invited to respond to is related to low secure and psychiatric intensive care services and how they are commissioned.

This is an clinical area where the input of mental health nurses is absolutely key and the judgements taken in the pursuit of a care model that balances care and security are sophisticated. If you have a view on this consultation and wish to contribute then email me at ian.hulatt@rcn.org.uk by March 15.
