Informatics update: March 2008 part 2

Dear all

We need your help:

Anne Casey, RCN information standards adviser, needs your expert advice and that of your colleagues: She asks "is there a difference in practice, within the UK, between 'unable to' and 'does not' e.g. unable to swallow, does not swallow; unable to climb stairs v does not climb stairs? Are these two distinguished in practice and if so what is (without splitting hairs) the difference?

Congress 2008 agenda items are now available on the web including the Telecare in the community item that reads “That this meeting of RCN Congress supports the implementation and use of telehealth services in the community for patients with chronic long term conditions”

An online poll - is now available so why not take part in this debate before Congress? Results of the poll will be available after the official vote but note - only RCN members can take part.

ACENDIO (Association for Common European Nursing Diagnosis, Interventions and Outcomes) is kindly asking you to answer a survey done in most European countries. The purpose of the survey is to find out what models, standards and structures are used in documenting nursing in health records in Europe. The survey is available till 28 March.
