Letter from the Editor: ALISON WALLIS (Spring 2009)
Published: 22 April 2009
Calling all authors!
This edition we're mainly looking at mobile solutions in health care. The range is varied and many are tools we use in everyday life, such as mobile phones and laptop computers. We don't necessarily think of them as "nursing tools" and, perhaps because we are so used to them, we may forget that there are confidentiality and security issues, as Hilary Pinnock points out in her article.
The purpose of this newsletter is to keep forum members up to date with eHealth developments around the UK and share examples of eHealth supporting nurses and care delivery. Content depends on people like you taking a few minutes to write about your experiences, but sometimes it is difficult to get enough articles. You might feel shy about writing for publication, but don't be - this is not a peer reviewed journal with extensive references. Is there a new IT innovation in your area? Do you work in eHealth or use it in your work? Have you attended a conference where eHealth was discussed?
I'm happy to help with advice regarding content and style of articles so just contact me if you think you could contribute: alison.wallis@nhs.net
And also remember, if you've not already done so, to sign up to receive e-newsletters - the preferred option for RCN newsletters in the future. You can do this via www.rcn.org.uk/myrcn
