People with learning disabilities and the criminal justice system: useful information
Published: 09 April 2013
A short paper produced by the Foundation for People with Learning Disabilities contains useful information for those working within the criminal justice system who may come into contact with people with learning disabilities.
Prisoners with learning disabilities are five times more likely than other prisoners to experience control and restraint, three times more likely to experience segregation and three times more likely to have depression or anxiety.
This paper provides some very helpful and useful ideas to improve practice.
