Rachel Thompson, RCN interim Adviser for Older People would like you to know about the recent update of the Alzheimer’s Society This is me document which has been endorsed by the RCN.
Rachel would like to thank those of you who contributed to the survey that was circulated and would like to apologise if you were not included as it was a very tight turn around.
For information, the new version is now available and was officially launched along with a new report on care homes on the 26 February 2013. They are also developing an online version, and a bilingual version is being produced for Wales.
The Alzheimer’s Society has agreed to send out some hard copies to those who were involved in the survey and left their contact details.

Older People’s Forum at RCN Congress

This year in Harrogate the Older People’s Forum was once again well represented by the committee and its members. Although we did not have any formal items on the agenda this year and were not seconding any of the items, the delegation certainly made sure that the older people’s nursing perspective was put across on a number of the agenda items.

The Older People’s Forum is working with the Dementia and Neurodegenerative Diseases Research Network (DeNDRoN) for our March 2013 conference. Here are details of another exciting DeNDRoN initiative which could support forum members.
