Report and action plan 2008-2009
Group overview/aims and geographical details
Our aim is to promote professionalism and practice development within the field of orthopaedic nursing. We strive to achieve this by providing a platform for our members to increase their knowledge and skills through educational seminars and local networks to promote best practice and share ideas.
Professional seminars, meetings and study days held
Despite efforts to widely publicise educational events the group had to cancel all of its planned study days/sessions due to a limited number of expressions of interest.
Approximate membership
Membership remains static and we will be reviewing this by sending further contact forms and flyers to encourage new members and to validate contact details of current members.

Plans for the coming year
The committee has continually tried to be active both locally and nationally but unfortunately have had no success with any study events. Due to the lack of support the committee was in agreement to take a six month time out and to have a re-think on how we can get the group actively running again. We are due to meet in September to share new ideas and to discuss as a group how we feel we can get our colleagues involved and if we are all willing to strive forward again with our positive action.
We hope during the coming year that we will have more interest in our local events, which enable us to support members at a local level and promote the work of the society.
