Report and action plan 2008-2009

Group overview/aims and geographical details

We are always looking to encourage new members not only from Taunton's Musgrove Park Hospital but also from other hospitals around the Somerset area. We continue to encourage all members of the multidisciplinary team to join in with our events to share ideas and promote best practice.

Professional seminars, meetings and study days held

We have had a difficult year and have found it hard to progress with some of our planned events having twice had to cancel a Multi-Trauma study day. This has been due in part to heavy workloads of group members. 

We plan to regroup now to start preparing for future events.

Plans for the coming year

We are keen to hold biannual study days open to all members of the SONG group. We would also like to hold at least one study day for our HCAs. Initially we plan to hold a femoral neck fracture study day on the 6 March 2010.
