Nottinghamshire Group (SOTNNG)

The Society of Orthopaedic and Trauma Nursing Nottingham Group (SOTNNG) holds a study day annually in November and an annual general meeting in March. We have active members in Lincolnshire as well as Nottinghamshire and are willing to rotate study days around venues, which in the past have included Bassetlaw and Derby. For further information about the group contact Chris Knight by email at knight.chris@ntlworld.com

SOTNNG had a successful study day in November 2012. Although we only had 30 delegates the evaluations were good and Karen Hertz did an excellent update on hip fractures. Other subjects covered were ankle replacements; living with Dupytrens’ contractures; and bone health – child to adult with an emphasis on obesity. We hope to have another study day next autumn and will start planning in the spring. We would like to include a session on shoulder surgery.
