As I put the finishing touches to this summer’s newsletter I cannot but reflect on the changes over this past year. It is just a year ago that our last paper edition of Bare Bones was produced and I seem to be getting little feedback from the membership. In fact, my Bare Bones mailbox bare.bones@ntlworld.com – has remained ominously empty.

This newsletter has therefore been put together thanks to committee members and a lot of nagging from me (something at which my husband says I am well-practised!). The newsletter and the website are for you, however, so please let us know your opinions – it adds to the variety of content and we can’t address concerns if we don’t know about them.

This edition contains a number of clinical projects that are ongoing, but if you are doing something that isn’t mentioned in here, this is your vehicle for letting others know – or you can request information from other orthopaedic nurses through the RCN’s Discussion Zone.
