Research interests
Qualifications: PhD, BSc (Hons), DPSN, ENB 219, RGN
I have been employed as a Lecturer at the University of Sheffield School of Nursing and Midwifery since 1994. My teaching and research interests both lie in the field of Orthopaedics and Trauma.
My teaching responsibilities are mainly within the newly formed Centre for Health Sciences and Service Development in which I am leader for a number of modules relating to Trauma, Orthopaedics and Research Appreciation and Application. I also teach on the School’s DMedSci Professional Practice Programme on which I lead a module relating to Evaluation and Outcomes research.
My research interests lie in the field of limb reconstruction, and in particular the psycho-social aspects from the patients perspective. I have also previously been involved in a DoH funded project examining how advanced nurses empower front line nurses in the use of evidence based practice.
