British Transport Police is pioneering a model of joint working with other services including health and probation to support people facing mental health crises access the care they desperately need.  The transport environment presents unique challenges such as how and where to treat very ill people many miles away from their home address and identifying who has the power to section an individual on private land.
 
Speakers at the event include Chief Constable Simon Cole, ACPO Mental Health lead along with the Rt Hon Paul Burstow MP and Deputy Chief Constable Paul Crowther of British Transport Police.
