BHIVA Publishes Standards of Care
Published: 30 November 2012
The British HIV Association, BHIVA, working in collaboration with care providers, professional associations, commissioners and people living with HIV, has produced a set of quality standards for the care of people with HIV in the UK. These up-to-date standards of care will be a vital reference tool for clinicians and other healthcare professionals in ensuring that all those living with HIV in the UK continue to have consistent access to high-quality care.
The Standards of Care for People living with HIV is a critically importance resource in the emerging new framework for the commissioning of HIV services via the National Commissioning Board and also for the payment by results system of national tariffs for HIV services. They will be particularly important for local service providers and commissioners to determine the right model of care within their local networks to meet the needs of people living with HIV within their communities.
