Consultant calls for the NHS to care for those in custody

Dr Peter Green, consultant forensic physician at St George's Hospital in London, has said that the NHS should take over the care of people detained by the police. This would help people with existing medical conditions get the help they needed, as a high proportion of people arrested are not registered with a GP.
