Paediatric endocrine group

Background information

There has been an increase in practising paediatric endocrinology nurses over the last few years, but no special interest group has actually existed. Interest has grown among these nurses and in 2003 a special interest group was formed within the RCN. Strong links are held with the British Society of Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes and the British Endocrine Society. However, these are strongly medical and it is felt that a unified voice for paediatric endocrinology nurses is the way forward.

Purpose

To offer support, advice and expertise to nurses and professionals working with children, young people and their families with an endocrine disorder.
