Paediatric Intensive Care Nurse Managers Group

The group was established in 1997 to provide mutual support and to encourage and strengthen links between senior nurses in paediatric intensive care units throughout the country. Central to this is networking and the exchange of ideas in good management practice, standards of care, education and workforce planning within the specialty. Currently, there are 30 members representing 24 PICUs from all parts of the UK.

Purpose

To provide mutual support, and to encourage and strengthen links between senior nurse managers in PICUs throughout the UK.

Aims

  • Exchange ideas of good management practice/innovations
  • Influence the national agenda for nurse workforce and education planning
  • Promote the specialty of paediatric intensive care within the context of improving health care for children
  • Influence the national agenda for standards in paediatric critical care.
