Meet the team
Aims
The advisory panel has two main purposes:
- To be the RCN voice for children and young people and for children’s nurses, raising the profile of children’s issues at the RCN.
- To ensure an integrated, strategic approach to RCN activity related to the field of practice.
Activities
To do this, the advisory panel:
- Provides an effective mechanism for linking forums, groups and networks to RCN Council, ensuring Council priorities and objectives inform forum, group and network action plans and vice versa.
- Acts as strategic advisory group to Council on the nursing and health care of children and young people.
- Facilitates co-ordination and collaboration between forums, groups and networks to reduce duplication of effort and share resources/expertise.
- Supports good communications and collaborative working between members and staff in RCN Boards, regions, functions and departments.
- Develops an integrated approach to research, practice development, education and policy development, through the developing children and young people programme.
- Advises on services and activities for RCN members.
