Debating nurse education and future career pathways
Two important consultation documents were published on 1 November; one on pre-registration education and the other on post-registration career pathways (England only). These consultations are part of the work around modernising nursing careers.
Modernising nursing careers has four key aims:
- To develop a competent and flexible workforce
- To update career pathways and career choices
- To prepare nurses to lead in a changed health care system
- To modernise the image of nursing and nursing careers.
The original modernising nursing careers report can be downloaded from the Department of Health website.
The pre-registration consultation document can be found a on the NMC website.
The post-registration consultation document can be found on the Department of Health website.
