Greetings to the Dermatology Forum

Thank you for taking the time to read Derm Dialogue and for your continued support of the Dermatology Forum.

We have had an active year as we have delivered regular newsletters covering a range of disease areas.

A well-attended dermatology conference took place in March where a range of topics were covered. There were interesting presentations from nurses who have had to work through difficult structural changes within their dermatology services and have come through with services intact and more empowered than ever.

This was followed in April by our fringe event at RCN Congress which is further discussed in Angela’s report in this newsletter. It focussed on sun bed usage and sensible sun behaviours and tips – at which we were delighted to welcome some members of our armed forces.

On behalf of our committee I would expressly like to thank all our speakers at both events for their passion, expertise and more importantly their very precious time and support in this difficult and challenging time of austerity.

I would also like to thank the RCN team behind the scenes and especially, the forum for their continued hard work under difficult conditions.

While on the subject of the Dermatology Forum Committee I would like to advise you that we have four currently vacant posts...

I look forward to welcoming some of you to our passionate and enthusiastic committee but we also want to see our Dermatology Forum grow from strength to strength and not diminish and be phased out.

Lastly, I would like to thank most sincerely our hard working, dedicated forum committee. Thank you Paula Oliver and Angela Steen without whom there would be no newsletter, conference or fringe event – in fact no forum.

We look forward to working/meeting with you all in the coming months – we thank you most sincerely.
