New advice issued on treating children with suspicious injuries

New guidance on investigating suspected non-accidental injuries in children has been published jointly by the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health and the Royal College of Radiologists.

Research shows that non-accidental injury is relatively common among the different forms of injury in childhood.

The document brings together the latest guidance and recommendations on how to proceed in these cases. It aims to ensure that all health care professionals in child protection are suitably supported.
