Health care support workers community

As a forward-looking organisation we recognise the crucial role that health care support workers (HCSW) play in delivering health care across all sectors and in many specialities.

Because our roles are no longer limited by job titles such as health care assistant, we widened our membership back in 2001 to reflect a dynamic workforce that is continually evolving. In May this year, we extended the membership criteria even further and now many more health care support workers are able to join the RCN.

If your routine health or social care work is delegated to you by a registered nurse/midwife or you have a qualification in health and care level one of the National Qualifications Framework in England or level three of the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework in Scotland (or are working towards this qualification) you eligible for membership to the Royal College of Nursing.
