Adviser’s Report: Betty Kershaw, DBE FRCN

First of all, welcome to our new History Society Chair and Editor, Ruth Davies. And thanks to everyone who has contributed to the Society and its growth so far, especially to Lesley Wade for her work with previous newsletters.

Since last time I have moved my desk and my orientation, and I’m now part of the team covering students, HCAs and APs, the Education Forum and the History of Nursing Society.

We’ve already been interviewing for the new Education Forum committee
and I hope before long we will at last know the way ahead for the Society. There are some useful pieces of information here, especially Jane Clarke’s article on page six.

I’ve been keeping in contact with the RCN Governance team over the heritage work, but the last few months have been quieter for me than for Ruth and other members of her team. I’m sure you will enjoy this new update and urge you to consider contacting Ruth about contributing in future.
