Carolyn Gibbons, (pictured second from right with three of her nursing students), delivered the annual Monica Baly lecture at RCN Congress in April.

Carolyn presented her research into the recruitment and retention of poor law nurses in Liverpool 1893-1933. The well-attended lecture raised the profile of the Monica Baly bursary and the work of the RCN History of Nursing Society.
Carolyn won the bursary in 2008.
