Edith Parker

We are sad to announce that Edith Parker, Principal of the Princess Alexandra & Newham College of Nursing & Midwifery (1989 – 1992), died on 19^th October 2012. She had a lifelong interest in the history of nursing. A member of RCN History of Nursing Society since its inception, she was a founder member of the London branch and also at various times secretary and chair of the group. With Sheila Collins, she published Learning to care: a history of nursing and midwifery education at The Royal London Hospital, 1740-1993 in 1998.
