Laurence Dopson 1924 – 2012

We are sad to announce that Laurence Dopson, the nursing journalist and historian, has died on 19 June at Musgrove Park Hospital in his beloved county of Somerset. In a writing career lasting well over half a century, he consistently strove to remind the nursing profession of its rich history. He was a supporter of the RCN History of Nursing Society from its earliest days and continued to compile obituaries for the Nursing Standard until his final illness. An appreciation of his life and work will appear in the next edition of the newsletter.
