In-Flight Nurses community

Welcome to the RCN In-Flight Nurses community.

The RCN In-flight Nurses Association (IFNA) was originally started by Mr Dickon Weir-Hughes and Mr Richard Hough as a special interest group back in the late 1980s.

Any RCN member may join the RCN IFNA, and the membership of the forum elects the Steering Committee who leads, represents and develops the RCN IFNA. Committee elections are every two years with each committee member elected to serve a four-year term up to a maximum of two terms. The committee of seven RCN members elects its chair who leads the committee and represents the RCN IFNA both within the RCN and externally. When vacancies occur, the committee may elect to co-opt a member; these co-opted members can then stand for election at the next opportunity.

The IFNA is made up of almost 1000 members working in the aviation, in-flight repatriation and transport industry including members in the armed forces, and overseas as far away as the Falkland Islands.
