Belt up!
Lifejackets aren't normally de rigueur at RCN headquarters, but the 37 delegates attending our last IFNA study day of 2008 were invited to have a go. Trainers for British Airways Safety and Emergency Procedures (SEP) also provided some excellent insider knowledge on the safety procedures in an aircraft. Gerry Bolger (previous IFNA Chair) discussed his first year on RCN Council and everyone contributed useful insights on the reality of flight nurse working conditions in our standards workshop. As one delegate commented on the evaluation form: "Good feedback session on our expectations from insurance companies and their expectations of us."
