Health Care in Danger Online Event
On the 21 January 2013 the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) will be holding an online discussion with a panel of experts on the responsibilities of healthcare workers in armed conflict. Healthcare workers are a vital part of the ICRC's “Health Care in Danger” project and this event coincides with the publication of a guide for healthcare workers on the front line, which can be found on the website for the project.
Anyone can join the event which starts at 14:30 GMT with a panel made up of both academics and practitioners who work in this field, and will be answering questions such as “How can you keep patient confidentiality in a war zone if you are morally compelled to denounce a human rights violation?” and “Can importing healthcare strangle local health systems?”.
