District Nurses Forum (1169)

A committee of seven members from around the UK hold office on behalf of all District Nursing Forum members. We aim to guide, support, and advise members on best practice issues related to district nursing, as well as advocating on behalf of members to raise the profile of district nursing.
Purpose

To support, advise and guide members of the District Nurses Forum and in the wider arena of primary care members within the RCN.

Aims
  • Network – raise awareness, profile, explore issues, giving advice as appropriate and update members from all over the UK
  • Communicate – via mediums such as the newsletter (twice a year), email group, telephone and email
  • Best practice – network, communicate and hold a yearly conference to ensure members are continually kept up to date with best practice issues
  • Policy and strategy – involvement in external and internal policy documents and groups such as NICE and DH. As well as through mediums such as the Primary Care Advisory Panel and International Advisory Panel 
  • Publish – to ensure that the profile of the forum is raised and issues pertinent to primary health commented upon in the wider arena of journals, publications, documents and through comments.
