Welcome to the Good practice area...
...the part of the site that belongs to you!
We at the RCN rely on you, the members, to send us the latest news on best practice, so that we keep this area alive and vibrant, and completely up to date with all the latest innovatory ways forward. So if you know of any examples of ground-breaking good practice, please let us know about them - and don't forget to add your contact details, so that we can get some useful networking started rapidly.
You may also have some questions about best practice, which you can put to others on the primary care and public health area of the Discussion Zone. For example, it might be something like: "our PCT is interested in employing health trainers, as recommended in the white paper, Choosing Health. If anyone is already doing this, please contact me @...."
Whatever it is, don't hesitate to ask! It's only by talking to one another that we will achieve optimum working practices for all nurses.
In fact, we anticipate that, within a very short time, many fine examples of how nurses and their colleagues are developing new services and different, non-traditional ways of working will be placed on this site. This will be an invaluable resource and will help website users achieve progress more quickly and with less hassle than in the past.
In the meantime, here are few documents that will help you to get started with some brief descriptions of examples of good practice:
