A warm welcome to the February e-newsletter. You will have heard a lot about the Francis report in the news. As this has implications for everyone working in health care, you will need to know about the recommendations included.

In this e-newsletter we come to the end of our journey through the RCN Principles of Nursing Practice, and we introduce our new look First steps resource, which will soon have a quiz and certificate for you to print on completion. 

Don't forget to book your place at RCN Congress 2013. This year the tailored programme for HCAs and APs will include workshops on diabetes, cancer care and patient safety. Congress is a fantastic opportunity to learn, network with colleagyes and be inspired, and I hope to see many of you there.
