Introducing your newsletter

Published: 09 November 2010

Welcome to the first ever issue of the RCN’s quarterly e-newsletter for health care assistant and assistant practitioner members. This is an exciting new development and a great way for you to pass on and receive information in a friendly and informal fashion.

There will be an overall focus on helping you develop professionally so some articles will feature advice on career planning, enhancing your clinical skills and being more confident in the workplace. There’ll also be regular items updating you on what health care developments are happening nationally, what the RCN is doing on your behalf, what savings you can make through your membership and what latest resources are available to assist you in your work.

We’ll have a regular forum focus slot so you can learn more about the benefits of joining an RCN forum related to your specialism. Plus your stories of success will be featured. Look out in this issue for Kirsty Ashcroft’s account of climbing up the career ladder.

We want you to be engaged and informed and we really value your input. This is your conversation with the RCN so make sure you get your voice heard and have your say. This is a work in progress so please let us know what you think, what works for you and what else you would like to hear about. If you’re feeling creative, you might also want to enter our competition to name this newsletter. The winner will receive RCNXtra shopping vouchers to the value of £50.

Finally, thank you for being an RCN member and please make the best use of your membership by getting involved. Enjoy the issue.
