The RCN health practitioner (HP) committee works to help develop RCN policy, put the College's priorities into action and contribute the perspectives of health care assistants (HCAs) and assistant practitioners (APs) into RCN strategy and planning.
The committee was formalised following the vote in 2011 to bring HCA and AP members into full membership of the RCN for the first time, with two seats on RCN Council, the organisation's governing body. The committee formally came into being on 1 January 2013, replacing the previous RCN HCA and AP Committee.
