The RCN Health Practitioner Committee

The RCN Health Practitioner (HP) Committee works to help develop RCN policy, put the College's priorities into action and contribute the perspectives of health care assistants (HCAs) and assistant practitioners (APs) into RCN strategy and planning.

The committee was formalised following the vote in 2011 to bring HCA and AP members into full membership of the RCN for the first time, with two seats on RCN Council, the organisation's governing body. The committee formally came into being on 1 January 2013, replacing the previous RCN HCA and AP Committee.

RCN Health Practitioner Committee membership

There are 14 seats on the committee, with 12 members representing the nine English regions, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales, plus the two Health Practitioner members of RCN Council.

There are currently vacancies for the London, West Midlands, Northern, Wales and Northern Ireland seats. Please check this page for updates on the election process for these vacant seats.
