The RCN has recently produced a revised edition of its position paper: Managing Children with Health Care Needs: Delegation of Clinical Procedures, Training and Accountability Issues (PDF 50KB) [how to access PDF files]
This document highlights those clinical procedures which can safely be taught and delegated to unregistered health and non-health qualified staff. This most recent version takes account of changes occurring in the NHS and the significant risks posed to children and young people arising from the plethora of private providers and social enterprises.
