Some of the links on this page are in PDF format - see how to access PDF files.
All applications for accreditation must now be submitted on the fifth edition of the application forms (below):

Re-accreditation information
Where possible, applications for re-accreditation should be received three months in advance of the re-accreditation date to avoid delay and ensure continuity. Applications for re-accreditation can be accepted up to a maximum of six months after accreditation has expired. However, the RCN will not recognise nurses as being accredited during any lapsed periods.
Lapsed re-accreditation applications over six months will not be accepted and nurses will be required to submit a new full application and the full accreditation fee will be payable. It is not possible to backdate accreditation dates.

If you are carrying out IUT procedures, we advise you to read the FSRH statement on bradycardia (PDF 101KB). Please also read our additional advice which applies to nurses working in primary health care/community settings, where immediate support from practitioners competent in cannulation is unlikely and where most patients would not have a cannula in situ.
