Entry requirements
In order to be eligible for accreditation, you will need to have completed a recognised post-registration course in contraception and sexual health care (CASH). This course will have consisted of university accredited theory and practice modules. The theory module must have contained a complete overview of all methods of contraception. The practice module needs to have included not less than 36 hours of practice sessions within an appropriate clinical setting and must have been assessed by a qualified CASH mentor.
If you are unsure of whether your course meets our requirements, please contact us for clarification. Please be aware that you may be asked to submit the programme and learning outcomes (this is because there are a great many courses of this kind running throughout the UK).
All of the other requirements for LARC accreditation are detailed in the 'Before you start' section of the guidance document and are listed on the checklist on page 18. Please ensure you take time to read all the guidance documents before completing your application.
