Summary
This course has been developed in collaboration with NHS Bradford and Airedale.
The course aims to provide the learner with information to enable their knowledge and skills to be developed to undertake a holistic assessment of individuals with urinary incontinence and bladder dysfunction, and initiate appropriate treatment.
On completion, the learner will be able to
- identify the main causes of urinary incontinence and the impact on the individuals
- outline the roles of anatomy and physiology in relation to continence recognise the specific health conditions which may have an impact on bladder function
- explain the different classifications and types of bladder dysfunction, and define
- describe the key principles of a continence assessment and treatment options.
