Ensuring the people in our care receive the right nutrition is key to any caring role. Healthcare assistants (HCAs) make a considerable contribution to this essential aspect of care. The role includes:
- Understanding nutrition (and nutritional needs)
- Nutritional screening (including identifying, observing and reporting malnutrition)
- Supporting and assisting people to eat and drink
