Dementia Action Alliance work
The RCN is a member of the Dementia Action Alliance (DAA) which is made up of over 66 organisations “committed to transforming the quality of life of people living with dementia in the UK and the millions of people who care for them” – see Dementia Action Alliance.
National Dementia Declaration
Members of the Dementia Action Alliance have signed up to a National Dementia Declaration which has been created in partnership with people with dementia and their carers. The Declaration describes seven outcomes that people with dementia and their family carers would like to see in their lives. For details see National Dementia Declaration.
Action groups have been formed around eight activities: public campaign on living well with dementia; educating the unpaid and paid workforce; the voice of people with dementia; designing care from beginning of dementia to end of life; influencing the new commissioning environment; what does good care look like and how do we make sure people know? outcome measures/statistics and a communications steering group.
For details of membership of these action groups see Dementia Action Alliance – Action Groups 14 September 2011 (PDF 75.52KB) - see how to access PDF files.
Information about the RCN’s commitment and progress update can be found in the Dementia Action Alliance Third quarterly report – September 2011.
