Alzheimer's Society: demography
This section of the Alzheimer's Society website includes information on prevalence and incidence of dementia and its different forms and for different age groups. The Society's Dementia UK report 2007 provides the most up-to-date evaluation of the numbers of people with dementia in the UK and the figurs in this report have been updated to bring them in line with current population data and were published with the launch of the 2012 report - see Dementia 2012: a national challenge

Alzheimer's Society: Dementia map
This interactive map shows dementia prevalence and diagnosis rates in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. The map was produced by the Alzheimer's Society and Alzheimer's Scotland with the help of the supermarket chain Tesco.

International Longevity Centre – UK (ILC-UK) (2011) The future economic, health and social care costs of dementia
This report is the product of two joint debates hosted by ILC-UK in partnership with the Actuarial Profession in Edinburgh and London, held in February and March 2011. The debates and report were supported by Pfizer in the UK. The report presents statistics on the costs of dementia – medical costs, investments in research, hidden carer costs and humanitarian costs. From this the report identifies policy priority and includes a summary of recommendations.

ISD Scotland: Dementia: number of patients consulting
The estimated number of patients (per 1,000 registered with a general practice) who have consulted either a GP or practice nurse for dementia at least once in the year ending 31 March 2010.
