Examples of good practice

Examples of good practice and case studies demonstrate through a particular situation or initiative how evidence has been integrated into current practice.

The following resources share good practice and offer examples of how diabetes care and services are being delivered.

Diabetes UK: Sharing your practice
Diabetes UK is sharing examples of diabetes services to stimulate debate and encourage service development. There is an A-Z of examples which can be searched by search term and topic.  The examples can also be accessed via Care topics which group together examples using a list of headings which includes: black and minority ethnic communities; commissioning; emotional and psychological support; integrated care; diabetes care in schools; user involvement; weight management. The 'Care topics' section of the Diabetes UK website also includes any organisational position statements, care recommendations, practice criteria and other useful links.

NHS Diabetes: Snapshot case studies
NHS Diabetes is a national organisation supporting improvement in diabetes services. The snapshot case studies are examples of good practice that have been collected from the diabetes community around the country. They are arranged under headings which include: prevention of type 2 diabetes; clinical care of adults and of children and young people with diabetes; empowering of people with diabetes; care of people with diabetes during hospital admission; diabetes and pregnancy; detection and management of long-term conditions.
