Training and education alone will not be enough to implement guideline recommendations.

An effective implementation strategy combines peer support and clinical leadership. Ways of working need to be reviewed and designed to increase the chances of embedding the clinical guideline in routine practice. Clinical audit should also be used to evaluate whether changes made have been effective.
