I am delighted that the RCN has now published its Spirituality in Nursing Care online resource, to complement our Spirituality survey 2010, and our Spirituality in nursing pocket guide. To order hard copies of the spirituality pocket guide, please call RCND on 0345 772 6100 and select option four.
The request for such an important piece of work came from our membership who identified the need for the nursing family to be able to be proactive in delivering spiritual care. This resulted in the first task and finish group commissioned by RCN Council, its membership included RCN Fellows an RCN Council Member and specialist leads in the area of spirituality and dignity in care.

Spirituality in nursing care: a pocket guide (Publication code: 003 887). This is a guide to enable nursing staff to address questions about the spiritual part of care. Media headlines have brought attention to the potential conflict that can exist between personal spiritual values /beliefs of nursing staff and their practice.
