Publishing through the RCN: a guide for members and staff

The RCN's publishing guidance document contains key information on how to get a document published and who you may need to speak to for further information on the publishing process.

Please ensure you read the guidance before you complete the publication proposal form:

What happens next?

Once your publication proposal has been received and assessed you will be contacted and informed if your proposal has been accepted or not.

If your proposal has been rejected, you will be provided with the reason why - it may be that the information you wish to communicate will work better using another communication channel - for example, an article in a journal. Or perhaps it doesn't fit in with the RCN's wider publishing plans and allocation of resources.

If your proposal has been accepted, you will be sent:

  • a draft schedule (to include approximate publication date)
  • the RCN's house style for writing to help get you started.

If you have any queries please contact the Publications team on 020 7647 3691 or via email shelley.lovesay@rcn.org.uk
