Naomi ChapmanDr Naomi Chapman - Executive Nurse Network Manager

Naomi is an experienced general, children’s and district nurse; she is also a qualified allied health professional. In her most recent NHS roles Naomi has worked as a clinical commissioner leading a service wide redesign of health and social care intermediate tier services and also as allied health professional commissioning and quality adviser.
From a research perspective, Naomi has a PhD from the University of Leeds and her research interests are patient reported outcome measures, quality of life and service evaluation. She has published in both nursing and medical press (as Naomi Reay).

Naomi is currently an Honorary Research Fellow with the University of Leeds (School of Medicine) and has held several roles in NHS research and development.

Naomi moved to the RCN in November 2011 from the National Institute of Health Research where she worked as operations manager in their national specialty group team.

Matthew BatesMatthew Bates - Executive Nurse Network Co-ordinator

Matthew joined the RCN as an administrator in August 2012, having previously taken time out to complete a first-class degree in sociology and media.

Prior to this, Matthew worked in project administration for the NHS and in the finance sector. He has been successful in securing the role of project co-ordinator for the Executive Nurse Network due to his extensive experience, knowledge and skills.

Natalie MayNatalie May - Administrator

Natalie has worked as an administrator within the RCN Nursing Department since December 2002. During this time she has successfully assisted the various teams and nurse advisers she has worked for. Her most recent achievement has been administering the Safer Staffing in Hospitals for Older People’s project.

Prior to joining the RCN, Natalie worked as an administrator or PA in a variety of industries ranging from events, oil and gas, recruitment, law and surveyors, to name a few.
