Jacqueline is a consultant nurse specialising in chest pain and Acute Coronary Syndromes. Jackie has a background of coronary care and completed Bachelor of Science degree in 1998 and Masters degree in 2006. She has developed a nurse-led Rapid Access Chest Pain Clinic (RACPC) service in South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and her Masters research study looked at the patients’ perception and satisfaction of the nurse-led service.
Jackie is currently registered for PhD at Teesside University. The focus of the PhD research study is to compare patients’ symptoms and anxiety whilst undergoing traditional care, versus an accelerated pathway to coronary revascularisation following attendance at nurse-led RACPC. Her other main current clinical focus is to develop safe and early rule out pathways for patients admitted to hospital with chest pain.
Jackie is an honorary lecturer at Teesside University and has assisted in the development of an MSc in Cardiac Care, specifically developing the Acute Cardiology and BSc Acute Coronary Syndromes modules. Jackie has published a number of educational articles related to chest pain and Acute Coronary Syndromes and is now focusing her career on a clinical / academic pathway.
