Postgraduate research training opportunities
MSc Clinical Research
The MSc in Clinical Research has several different routes applicable to different groups of students. All routes include generic core modules that cover a range of topics that will enable students to plan and undertake clinical research.
- Generic Route (1 year full-time or up to 5 years part-time)
The module covers a range of core skills necessary for the planning, development and management of clinical research, teaching in the practical aspects and ethical and regulatory requirements for clinical research, optional modules focusing on specific areas of interest and a dissertation that provides the final step towards gaining the knowledge and practical skills to become an independent researcher. - NIHR Route for Nurses Midwives and Allied Health Professions(1 year full-time or up to 5 years years part-time)
The MSc in Clinical Research for Nurses Midwives and Allied Health Professions was established as part of the NIHR clinical academic training pathway and is open to those on the relevant UK professional register who have at least one years experience in clinical practice and are currently employed by the NHS or other healthcare organisation commissioned to provide services to the NHS. Students accepted for this course may be eligible for a limited number of NIHR bursaries that cover the full course fees and full salary replacement costs for their employers.
